Lets go.. Brown Trout Season, First 4 weeks have been EPIC!!!!!!!

It takes a lot to make me speechless but after an incredible take and a run that spooled my reel this monster came to the net and a massive thanks to my friend Dave who kept me calm and managed to get an awesome pic before this wonderful creature was released to fight another day.

Peter with his first ever fish on fly ! and first fish in Scotland !

To say we were surprised was an under statement the plan was to take Peter out and hopefully catch some average size fish to get him used to casting, playing and generally learning fly fishing. The next thing we knew he was attached to this monster which after a very tense fight we got in the net. We both needed a sit down and a cup of tea to calm down which we did in pouring rain and 50mph winds but it didn't matter it was a fish of a lifetime.

It not all about big fish. Stunning scenery, great company and the ability to shut off and relax makes fishing in Scotland like no where else. All of these fish were caught deep down on Di5 and Di7 lines. When its cold and the fish are lying deep you need to get down to them fast and when these fish take they fight much bigger than their size.

Just great to be out on the water and with views like this I wouldn't want to be any where else in the world.

Always love meeting up with Bud from USA, fantastic fisherman and friend. Normally when I take people fishing I don't fish myself but Bud always like a bit of friendly competition and we had an incredible day with 12 fish to the boat and some really nice brown trout!
