Been a lot happening with casting lessons, tying flies for the new season and getting all my tackle sorted! However I have managed a few days out and the sport has been amazing.
The Pike below was actually landed on a 5X tippet while fishing for Rainbow Trout! It was an epic battle to get it in with me thinking at any point the line could snap or be bitten off so when this went in the net after about half an hour I was a happy man.
Winter Rainbow Trout can be excellent fun and on my first trip of December I had some good fish. The fish were holding very deep and an intermediate line retrieved very slowly was the order of the day to get a few bites.
