Matt & Alex three day adventure on Loch Leven was in the planning for nearly a year and it was well worth the wait! With high winds forecast, we were all nervous but we managed to find the fish and lets say we absolutely smash it!

Alex with his MASSIVE 25lb 4oz Scottish Pike!

First day, we had 10 fish to the net which included 4 over 10lb the biggest weighing in at just over the 15lb mark for Matt. Considering we had another two days to go we were all in high spirits and could not wait to see what the next two day had in store for us.

Second Day, we were in for a shock 6 fish including Alex Monster of 25lb 4oz, and then 10 minutes after Matt landed a 17lb fish we just couldn't believe it!

Third day, another 8 fish which included several absolute beasts! And by this time we were thinking it was all a dream and we were in some sort of Pike heaven!

This really was a trip of a lifetime and what made it special was it was a gift from Matt to Alex for his Birthday. For once I am speechless! Oh yes forgot to mention we had a double hook up as well! Just check out the photos.

All the pics from the three day adventure below so have a good look and enjoy. I can't wait to get back out on the water with these guys and make more memories. It really was a laugh a minute, not to mention so exciting to see what was going to happen next.

Over the last month we have had very changeable conditions, sun, wind, rain and algee blooms! However doesn't seem to have put the fish off and I have been out all weathers enjoying the last of the summer.

Fish of a lifetime........

This fish was totally unexpected and just goes to show always have a few last casts! After a great morning catching a few fish I returned to the club house for a chat and decided to have a few more cast and second cast bang this fella hit it! Was caught on a very small size 12 copper nymph pattern! The fish was kept in the water at all times and lifted for about 10 seconds for a quick video which I took these stills from. I wish I hadn't spent longer with this fish as it was so incredible but it was released to live another day very quickly. Hopefully I will see it again.....

The plan - very simple take 12 guys visiting from America trout fishing over 3 days and to catch their first Scottish Wild Brown Trout!

The venue was Carron Valley Fishery which is run by Jimmy Feenie as a members only venue of which I have been a proud member of since it started to be an exclusive wild brown trout fishery. It has to be one of the most beautiful, scenic venues in Scotland and the amount of time and effort Jimmy puts in behind the scenes makes sure when you visit your going to have a great time.

Fishing as usual was going to be dictated by the wind and the drift ! But the fishing was amazing with everyone landing fish and losing just as many.

The top flies were Diawl back's, Daddy long legs and large busy dabblers pulled fast, the takes as usual were quick and savage. It always amazes me how fast and hard these fish take and sometimes you miss them!

Simply stunning marking on all of the fish and as you can see so varied in colouration and spots depending on which part of the lake they live and the food they have been eating. If your interested in wild Brown Trout this is the place to cast a line.

So many cool pictures. A massive thanks to Jonathan Lindsey at the Red Lion in Doune Scotland for his help in putting this trip together and for the best smoked brisket I have ever tasted. Enjoy all the photos below and if you fancy going on a trip please get in touch all my trips include everything you will need for a fantastic day on the water and I can suit the day / times to suit your holiday.
